Random Sugar Honey Iced-Tea!

Today has been a very busy day, but it was totally fun and worth the burnout I'm feeling right now. Today, two of my best friends came over; an occurrance that is very rare during the Summer.

My day started out, waking up at 8.30am and jumping out of bed on auto-pilot, while in a sleep-filled daze, and fumbling to switch off the unrecognisable sound of my alarm clock. I flipped the switch down, expecting the sound to go off but it didn't, so I did the daring thing and flipped it up and quiet reigned in my room. I then flopped back into bed, only to wake up again at 9.30am. I couldn't get back to sleep, so I just lay there and got out up around 10.30am.

I then vacuumed the living room, in preparation of my friends' arrival. To kill the time I played some SMT: Lucifer's Call. At around 1.30pm-ish I felt like going for a walk, only for my friends to turn up at the door. It was great, tear-filled hugs and cuddles all around (I exaggerate), but really it was a touching moment.

I gave my friend, Leena, a tour of the house as it was a her first time and Bhavna was allowed to tag along ^_^ We messed about quite a bit and talked a lot, catching up and cracking jokes and laughing at all the stupid things we did (most of them were me, I think...) We took pictures of each other in funny poses (I used mine as my profile picture, aren't I spiffy?) The sunglasses I'm wearing are Leena's, to be honest I think they're pretty cool...though I don't think I got a chance to tell her that ^_^;;

We then proceeded to surf the internet, first showing Leena a funny strip Bhavna found of various characters visiting deviantART, followed by some cool and funny Harry Potter images found at accioBRAIN!. They then showed me some comics at Simply Potterific Comics, and then Leena showed us a clip from FF7: AC which had been given fun-subs, which was found on YouTube; it's title is Mr. Fluffy. In turn, I showed them a Captain Planet music video using clips from FF7: AC.

Would you guess that we then watched the movie? Yeah, we watched it, though not peacefully since Bhavna's only contact with a Final Fantasy title was 'The Spirits Within', so she had a lot of commentary to accompany the movie along with a bunch of questions. Thus, we had to pause quite a lot so that I could give a crash-course in the world of FF7; mainly covering who/what JENOVA was, why the three brothers referred to Cloud as a brother and, as requested by Leena, what Rufus's role was. Even those were riddled with commentary, and even moved off topic. In the end, Bhavna understood the story as the Krypton-woman came down with the goal to destroy the world, and attempted this by taking the form of the inhabitants' dead relatives and thus driving them crazy. What remaining Etcetera that still had their sanity, banded together and sealed the Krypton-woman, after which most of them collapsed from weakness and died. She also understood that Professor Hojo and Sephiroth both have issues, and that, by her reckoning, Cloud was a pot-head who liked to get on a high at the most inappropriate and random moments.

With the movie over, we then watched an old ep of Friday Night with Jonathon Ross, which featured Paul Bettany, William Shatner and Robbie Williams with Terry Venables. Personally, I don't get the attraction factor in Paul Bettany, but shh, don't tell Leena and Bhavna that I said that :p

Afterwards, we just chilled and then got ready to drop them home, courtesy of my lovely mum ^_^

Oh yeah! Be sure to check them out at the following:

Ahh! Blood!

Today I had blood taken out for a test. I can't remember the last time I had blood taken out. It hurt a lot more than I had expected, but also a lot less than I had expected.

The nurse took out three vials of blood and I was fascinated by how dark the colour was, but was also trying to find somewhere else to look because I don't do well with blood. Actually, I don't mind blood, I just can't stomach surgery.

After the nurse was done taking her samples, she stuck a plaster...on the wrong spot, which I had to fix when I got home. Oh and my arm hurts when I bend it. It's not so bad, it just tingles and feels weird, while hurting/throbbing slightly at the spot she took blood from.

The test results should be coming in a week or so. What are they testing? Well to see if I'm healthy and if I may have a Thyroid problem.

Day of Mourning

I know I said on DeviantArt that I'd cover my thoughts on Superman Returns, but yesterday was such a sad day.

The Playstation 2 is dead. My youngest brother killed it. It remains unknown whether it can be revived, but it is officially dead. I will not be able to advance in any of my PS2 games ;_;

Faretheewell Playstation 2...you have served me well for the past 6 years.

A bit overdue...

Hi all! Remember, a few posts back, how I was upset about losing the Bid on Destrega? Well a day or two after that, another one came up for 'Buy it Now'. I jumped for utter joy and ran to my mum giving her the good news, I then proceeded to click on the button and purchase the game. The reason I didn't mention this at the time is because I'm a pretty supersitious person, believing that if I hype over something, something bad will happen ^_^;; Anyways, a few days later (which would be last Friday), the game I have long awaited finally popped through my letter box in astounding condition. You, dear Seller, do not realise the extent of my gratitude, you truly made my moment *big smile*

Well, I played the game and still love the battle system, playing 1-on-1 with the older of my two younger brothers. After having enough, I went on to give Story Mode a whirl and was surprised to find that it incorporated Voice Acting...my face was plastered with shock. Voice Acting? In a PS One game? No way! The only other game I knew of that had Voice Acting (in the sense of Role-Playing) was The Legend of Dragoon, and even then it was pretty minor. The graphics were pretty good too, rivalling Final Fantasy VIII, and the Cut-Scene Graphics were pretty slick, again rivalling Final Fantasy VIII and IX.

Despite how much I was blown away by these revelations, the Voice Acting was decent...but left a lot to be desired, more prominently being certain points where the Vocals seemed to echoe (much like in Baten Kaitos, if you left the Vocal Sound on Surround...hopefully doing the same thing will fix it in Destrega). Also the Acting reminded me of how those old Chinese movies were dubbed...LoL.

It's still a good game, and I enjoy playing it for the battle system which was different and refreshing, as opposed to generic Beat'em Up's. Here, you can run around an arena and use magic from a distance, or as a follow-up to a close-range physical attack. Me likey.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest

Righto, today I went to the cinema with my mum and the older of my two younger brothers (the youngest one is apparently "Too good to spend time with his family, since friends, who screw him over eventually, are all he really needs in life," (NB: This is solely my opinion, and it's based on FACT!)). At my mum's suggestion, we went to watch the sequel to one of my favourite movies, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. JOHNNY DEPP WOO! Orlando Bloom was a nice side-dish, but Johnny Depp, my fandom reigns true! He is totally hot and an uber cool actor, I don't know why some people disagree with me...

Anyhow, back to the movie, it lived up to the first one and had sucked me in so deep I didn't see the end coming o.O I sat there for a moment, thinking 'Huh? *blink blink* Noo!!!!' It really pulled the carpet out from under me, now I have to wait until the third (and reportedly, last) installment. *sigh* I'm not going to say anything about it, just so I don't spoil the people who plan on watching it, but not yet. However, I will say this...WHORE! Evil wench! and Noooo!!! Oh and make sure you stay right to the end of the credits, there's a rather cute/funny scene at the very end. Besides, the music is wonderful and will keep you entertained while waiting for the credits to end. Go. See it. Now.

Upon exiting the cinema, I almost collapsed to my knees screaming. There was just too much colour and it was all bright, my eyes and brain couldn't handle it. Somehow, I survived the experience.

I am really compelled to watch Superman Returns. Why? Because it looks pretty cool and powerful, not as in the 'Oh My God! That was awesome and totally affected me right here!'-powerful, no, I mean as in 'Wow, those special effects totally did something to me, I mean did you feel that "whoosh"?!'-powerful. The story seems okay, and for some reason it has a pretty nice line about the Earth not needing a Savior, but calling out for one. I love Superman! And yeah, Brandon Routh is pretty nice to look at (again, why do some people disagree with me on this?)

Hmm...I've done enough fangirly ranting, so I guess I'll save some for the next post *grin*
