Tales of Symphonia Fans: REJOICE! Oh...and some other news...

So, I'm browsing AnimeNewsNetwork.com and I come across a little tidbit concerning Tales of Symphonia. Apparently, there was a rumour sometime back about there being an Anime/OVA based on the title in production, however this was a misinterpretation of the news concerning the animated cut-scenes in the game.

I'm sure most ToS fans will remeber that; well...even if you don't, there you go, there was a misinterpreted rumour.

So, concerning the title of this post, why should fans rejoice? Well, there really is an Animated OVA in production, and is slated for release sometime next year. Isn't that just fantastic? *squees in delight* Fans, including myself, will now know which is the real storyline in the game, i.e. did he really die? It seems most probable.

And oh my, I have yet to complete my second playthrough and move onto the third! Argh! But before that, I need to complete SMT: Lucifer's Call and Xenosaga II! Now that I've mentioned Xenosaga II, I always think about why Xenosaga I was never released in the UK. I mean isn't it just plain stupid and retarded to release the second in the series, when the first never even made it past the USA? Same goes for Suikoden IV. The first three never even touched our shores ¬.¬

As for some other news, as of July 6th 2006, Rapture TV will be airing Mezzo DSA on Thursdays, replacing Wolf's Rain. From July 22nd 2006, the UK will be able to watch Naruto on Jetix. To be honest, I was a Naruto fan and caught every fansubbed episode, until they started going into the long and crappy Filler Arc. I'm planning on catching up...soon.

Oh and here's something to roll your eyes at: a 49-year-old female teacher/mother of two, had an affair with a 14-year-old male pupil. She is sentenced for some time in jail and has been banned from teaching in future. Disgusting.

Baten Kaitos Complete, and some NewGrounds stuff

Hi all!

I have been meaning to post this up for some time, but stuff kept comin in the way, in other words...I was lazy.

Anyhow, I finally completed Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean a few days back, and have since started playing Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer's Call (Nocturne for the Americans and Japanese). Baten Kaitos, is by far the only game I have taken a good number of months completing. I'm usually done in a couple of days, two weeks at most, but in this circumstance I was busy, since I started playing this during University. So, as the work started to pile up and the deadlines got closer, I had to shelve Baten Kaitos and pick it up as soon as I finished University.

My Verdict on the Game: A real gem, and a must have for RPG enthusiasts who want one for their GameCube (Tales of Symphonia being the absolute MUST HAVE).

The voice acting is a main issue, it's pretty decent but when emotional scenes occur, they seem to skewer off and ruin the mood. Very reminiscent of the 3x3 Eyes Anime; decent voice acting, just very bad when emotion is required.

That's the only fault in the game, everything else is fantastic. Gorgeous graphics and an extremely beautiful soundtrack. You're bound to find your favourite song in no time. Storyline was refreshing, something I have never really come across in the game. At the risk of sounding cliche, there are too many twists to count and all questions are answered, so you aren't left hanging at the end.

Now for the really long-awaited stuff. Near the beginning of my holiday, my brothers were browsing NewGrounds and came across some Mortal Kombat flash videos. These were quite amusing and pretty well done, you can find them here:

Mortal Kombat Crossovers

Raiden's Crossover
Liu Kang's Crossover

Mortal Kombat Vs. Street Fighter

MK Vs. SF
MK Vs. SF 2

And here's a pretty amusing Stick-Man fight that my brother showed me a while back:

Animator Vs. Animation

Enjoy the goodies :D
